'Mealworms & live foods (such as wax worms) can be fed all year but it's particularly important to do so in the breeding season when parent birds are looking for insects and other invertebrates to feed their young (live mealworms, rather than dried, are much more suitable in the fledgling season as bird food due to the moisture they contain, but you can easily rehydrate dried mealworms/ by soaking them in warm water for a while). And it isn't just the birds you'd expect such as robins, blackbirds and starlings that are so attracted to mealworms, but also house sparrows too - making mealworms readily available bird food can make a real positive difference to breeding success.'

Haith's® Tip! If you'd rather not feed live food why not try Dried Mealworms, but soak them first in warm water to add moisture during the breeding season.
