Make a cake for birds.
We have been supplying bird cake mixture for many years and have always encouraged our customers to add this mixture to the left over fat from their Sunday roast to create their own nutritious feeding blocks for the bird table.
Times may have changed but our “fat trap” pot means any leftover fat from cooking during the week can be poured in the fat trap.
At the end of the week you can mix the relevant amount of bird cake mix as directed. Set in the fridge over night then remove from the fat trap pot, place on your bird table and watch as your garden guests enjoy the fruits of your labour!
This mix can be forced in to any empty yoghurt pots to shape them or fill empty coconut shells previously filled with fat treats.
Try our bird cake recipe and let us know how it turns out!
• *Mix 1 part melted fat with 3 parts bird cake mix.
• Scoop into the mould of your choice
• Sink a piece of soft garden twine into the mix – this will come in handy later for hanging the mix outside
