Bird Tables from Haith's

Bird Tables

A good table is suitable for the year-round feeding of wild birds and is an essential component of any busy wild bird garden. Ours are made from FSC certified timber and are easy to assemble plus practical with adequate drainage. Our advice is simple: buy a good quality one but nothing too fancy as they can be hard to clean and may even put the birds off.

Some of the more rustic looking tables found in garden centres can look appealing and often tick the aesthetically pleasing box; however, wild birds are not attracted by thatched roofs and a built-in nest box is an absolute no-no. Instead, invest in good quality bird food and provide a decent table to keep the food as clean and dry and as fresh as possible.

It's good practice to keep all feeding stations - and the immediate areas around them - clean and free from any bird droppings, waste husk or uneaten food as that presents the build up of harmful bacteria. A bird-friendly disinfectant will soon have feeding stations safe for food and safe for birds. Don't forget to wear gloves when cleaning feeders and always wash your hands when you've finished.
