Stock Dove

The Stock Dove is often mistaken for the Wood Pigeon but it is smaller and more compact and lacks the white patches on either side of the neck. It is frequently seen in parks and farmland especially close to woodland.

It feeds often in small flocks on open fields where it takes fallen seeds. It will come to country and occasionally suburban gardens and will take ground-scattered seed mixtures particularly those like Haith's Original Wild Bird Food and Mixtures which contain split grain.
