I would honestly say that the most productive and the least threatened habitat in Britain are gardens. Every garden –no matter how small - has the potential to be a nature reserve. What’s more, add all those thousands of gardens together and it is a very big nature reserve.
Well, for a start that depends on what latitude you live at. As far as Britain is concerned, the first signs of spring can be immediately in the New Year if you happen to live on the south coast of England, particularly in Devon or Cornwall.
It is an old question, but it still gets asked: ‘When should I feed the birds?’
