It has been a while now since Haith's Baits released their first range of base mixes onto the market and I think we have all been rather taken by surprise at the success it has achieved.
There are a lot of bait firms around these days and an equally large number of good base mixes, all of which are 'guaranteed' to empty the lake for you.
I think most carp anglers would agree that summer is by far the most productive time of the year for catching carp. They are at their most active and they seem prepared to eat just about anything.
In this the second article that I wrote for Tim Paisley I look back at my first tentative steps into the more complex world of HNVs, HERNVs, enzymes and aminos. In the clear light of today's more modern thinking, most of what follows is naive not to say just plain wrong, but if you don't try you never learn so read what follows while wearing a pair of 1980s glasses!
