I think most carp anglers would agree that summer is by far the most productive time of the year for catching carp. They are at their most active and they seem prepared to eat just about anything.
Recently the fishing for most of the lakes that I angle upon has been rather slow and I put this down to the huge amounts of free protein readily available to the fish – i.e. tadpoles and small frogs, and judging by the amount of small amphibians hopping all around the margins…it was no wonder.
Most of my fishing over the last month or so has been short sessions of between three and five hours. So this time around I thought I would run through how I approach short session fishing…
