Following on from my bait making blogs, I thought that this time I would give you a few recipes for each of the new Robin Red base mixes. The flavours that I use come from the Nutrabaits stable (unless stated) as this is where my confidence lies.
In many ways I`m very fortunate; you see, literally, one minute is all that it takes to drive from my cottage to a small but perfectly formed complex of lakes. It’s a mixed fishery with some lovely big Roach and Carp amongst the species present, including very big Goldfish.
Here we are nearing the start of a new year and I find it hard to believe that it is nearly 15 years since I first started working for John E. Haith of Cleethorpes, as it was then. Now it is simply Haith's Ltd and the old premises in Cleethorpes has been replaced by a modern corporate super-HQ and factory in Grimsby.

As you may have already seen, I recently enjoyed a very successful trip to le Queroy, a wonderful French fishery in the Charente. I caught 70 fish in less than 60 hours fishing time – quite hectic fishing, I am sure you will agree.
