Simon King, Associate Director of Haith's Baits, was recently invited to share the secret behind Haith's International export success at Lincolnshire's premier business and Innovation Centre, Europarc, to an audience of bankers, solicitors, accountants and hopeful exporters. "The secret's simple, " he said. "It's UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and a business commitment to serving bait manufacturers in the UK and overseas. It's as simple as that."

UKTI is a UK Government department working with businesses based in the United Kingdom to ensure their success in international markets, and encourage the best overseas companies to look to the UK as their global partner of choice.

The Haith's Baits Case Study was cited as a positive example of how UK SMEs can work with UKTI's experienced local advisors and fine-tune their international strategy, refine target markets and highlight opportunities beyond Europe.

Haith's has in recent months internationalised its website to make it easier for overseas markets to open-up dialogue and appear in Google searches conducted in mainland Europe.

In 2011, Haith's launched a global protection of its trademark brand Robin Red - awarding an exclusive logo/licence to approved bait firms. This community trademark is now recognised in more than twenty European countries and is currently at the forefront of bait firms' strategy to enter markets further afield in USA, Canada and Japan.

"With the help of UKTI, we're looking forward to helping bait firms deliver high-quality recreational fishing bait across the globe."
