How to create a hookbait of SuperSoft pellets
Tuesday, 10th February 2015
• Fox Arma Mesh Bait Meshing System
• Hooklink material - here I am using 15lb Supa Nova.
• Your hook of choice. I like the Fox LS Arma Point for this rig as it allows perfect separation when the hookbait is ejected.
• A small brass or stainless steel rig ring.
• Some bait floss.
• A section of soluble packaging foam.
Instructions.

Tie the small rig ring to the Supa Nova, then using a knotless knot tie on the hook. Note the position of the ring, level with the bend of the hook.

Next you will need some mesh. This Arma Mesh from Fox is perfect but you could equally use a section of mesh cut from a pair of ladies tights or stockings. Get permission first! :-)

Take a pinch of SuperSoft pellets, sufficient to create a hookbait of 18-20mm.

Tie an overhand knot at one end of the Arma Mesh and then place the pellets in the funnel provided. Push the plunger firmly to position the pellets at the knot and push the small package of pellets clear of the funnel.

Gather the pellets together and form a second overhand knot so as to close off the mesh. Try to get the second knot as tight to the body of the meshed pellets as possible.

Now take your bait floss and tie a uni knot (slip knot).

Position the loop between the knot and the body of the hookbait.

Pull the slip knot tight and trim away the excess Arma Mesh.

Using the tag ends of the bait floss, tie the hookbait of Arma Mesh-ed pellets to the rig ring.

Trim away the tag ends and singe with a lighter. Take care not to burn through the Arma Mesh!

Finally fold a section of soluble packaging form lightly dampened with saliva around the hook shank and the hair thus securing the hookbait in place.
