Anyone who regularly watches birds in their garden has known instinctively that it’s a rewarding pastime; however, the new research states that ‘People living in neighbourhoods with more birds, shrubs and trees are less likely to suffer from depression, anxiety and stress.’ Simon King goes on to highlight the positive effects of watching wild birds and concludes that we need wildlife, and wildlife needs us - a statement in which we can all hopefully agree on.
With this in mind what better time to observe wildlife with so many beautiful scenes all around us?
We’d love for you to share photographs of you enjoying wildlife – whether that be feeding the wild birds or delighting in a stroll in your local park. Simply email your pictures over to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and feel free to comment on how viewing wildlife makes you feel. Furthermore at the beginning of June we’ll enter any pictures received into a prize draw to win a Bird Lovers Hamper.
