Living things have three basic needs to survive; - shelter, water, and food.
Our gardens, if we are lucky enough to have one, can provide homes for an enchanting variety of wildlife such as birds, bees and butterflies.
For the majority of people, the traditional way to feed wild birds is from a bird table. It doesn’t have to be a fancy table, a tray on a wooden pole is ideal, even a roof is not essential but offer some protection from the rain.
The most important part is where to site your bird table. It is best away from full sun and driving winds, and at least 6ft away from objects to make it harder for predators to approach feeding birds. Your garden birds would also appreciate a convenient place to land before they approach the bird table as they are constantly on the lookout for predators.

Goldfinches are becoming increasingly common in our gardens. They are attracted to Niger seed and Goldfinch & Siskin Mixture.

Peanuts, which are loved by birds like Blue Tits and Greenfinches, are another garden bird favourite. Starlings, Blackbirds and Chaffinches all eagerly take suet. Obtainable in pellets, suet blocks, fat balls and nuggets they are made from high-quality fat with wholesome ingredients. With an assortment of flavours, your garden birds will surely adore visiting your garden for this tasty treat.
